Police issue warning about bogus callers in Cumbria

CUMBRIA police are warning the public about bogus telephone calls from people claiming to be from Microsoft, in order to gain access to computers.

Police have received a number of complaints regarding the issue, where the caller has been advised that there is a virus or programme problem on their personal computer. They have then been talked into giving the caller remote access to their computer.
